Very little public information is to be found on the House Party. There is no website or Facebook to visit.
This story from Inside Housing sheds some light.
The House Party, has been registered by former Green Party candidate and journalist, Terry McGrenera, in a bid to bring the capital’s housing crisis to the fore during London Assembly elections in May.
Mr McGrenera hopes to win a seat in the assembly by campaigning around house building and lack of affordability so he can hold the mayor to account on his housing policies.
On his campaign website, Mr McGrenera states: ‘The government’s new ‘affordable rent’ measures come into effect shortly. They will not be “affordable” to tens of thousands of families on housing benefit. The thrust of the measures will be that London will become a city of the rich. To prevent that happening is the reason I founded the House Party.
‘Getting elected to the London Assembly is the best way to prevent the gentrification, some would call it social cleansing, of the capital as well as making it prohibitive for first-time buyers and people living in the private rented sector.’
