Brainlove Festival 2013: New Tigers
John Rogers | Sunday 5 May, 2013 20:07
This week, SNIPE is looking at the musicians playing the Brainlove Festival, Saturday 11 May at the Windmill Brixton.
Now: New Tigers
1. Hello! Please introduce yourself to our readers. Who are you, where are from, and what do you do?
We are New Tigers from Turku, the surfy west coast of Finland. We do fuzzy pop music.
2. You’re playing BRNLV FSTVL on May 11th – have you played before, or if you haven’t, have you any expectations?
We haven’t been there before, and are looking forward to it! Expecting a party: rocking, dancing, maybe some confetti? Ville has played at the Windmill a couple of times before though, with Cats on Fire.
3. Could you give us a Soundcloud link of a recent single or track, and tell us about it plz – recording, writing, subject matter, whatever seems most important?
This is our latest single “Quicksilver”. It’s the first taster from our upcoming new album, which is to be released in the autumn. It was recorded last autumn and finished this spring, and it is the first of our tracks to feature vibraphone. The overall sound is more sophisticated than on our first album, but only slightly.
4. The BRNLV label is ten this year. Do you own a Brainlove Record? Do you have a personal favourite?
No, that has to change! We are all brain lovers though.
5. Do you have any tours or releases coming up? What’s next?
A new album in autumn, a gig in Stockholm next summer and hopefully more gigs after the album release.
