Cuushe - Airy Me

The dissertation I submitted for my BA back in the heady days of 2012 was a well-researched if unremarkable evaluation of the use of Twitter as a newswire by large media organisations – copies are available on request should you be looking to while away a 10-15 stretch. The video above forms part of the graduation work of young Japanese artist/animator Yoko Kuno, which in all honesty makes me feel a little depressed and pathetic. It took nearly two years to make and consists of some 3000 hand-drawn illustrations. I can’t bring myself to watch it in its entirety, such is the feeling of inferiority it provokes, so please let me know how it turns out.

Airy Me is taken from Tokyo by way of Berlin artist Cuushe’s 2009 debut Red Rocket Telepathy. She’s currently working on her third LP, Butterfly Case, out September 23 on Flau, the follow-up to 2012’s wonderful Girl You Know That I Am Here but the Dream.
