Jaakko Eino Kalevi, the latest signing to Domino subsidiary Weird World, works part-time as a tram driver in his native Helsinki. Which got us thinking, where on London’s vast public transport network could the Brit indie stars of the future be hiding? Checking tickets and scolding racists on the Croydon tramlink? Casually belting out a mind the gap rap on the central line platform at Oxford Circus?

There’s more than a hint of Ariel Pink in the lo-fi grooves and retro synth/horn lines of No End, taken from the cult Finnish artist’s debut EP Dreamzone, out December 2. Breathy vocals come courtesy of fellow Helsinki dweller Suad Khalifa and you can catch Jaakko at Ja Ja Ja at the Lexington on November 28. There’s also an album pencilled in for the spring.
