Channelling the spirit of OMD through a contemporary synth-pop filter and juxtaposing with vocalist Samuel T. Herring’s theatrical growl, Baltimore’s Future Islands deserve much of the praise heaped on them since 2010’s In Evening Air. New album On The Water is released October 11th, again through Thrill Jockey and is being touted as the trio’s ‘most ambitious and fully realized statement yet’. Download Balance below.
