I Break Horses - Denial

It’s great to hear Maria Lindén’s vocals cut through the mix on this, the first new music from Swedish duo I Break Horses since 2011’s Hearts. On that record, Lindén’s voice was sometimes irritatingly obscured by the dense electronics; here we get to evaluate it in a significantly more naked form – her tone is beautifully and naturally hoarse. The melodies, as ever, grab you by the lapels and drag you into a darkened corner for the best kiss of your life. Amazing drum roll too. No news of a new LP as of yet, but watch this space, we have the makings of a rather fine pop band here.
