Anti-psalm by Sister Crayon
Anti-Psalm is the new single from Californian quartet Sister Crayon. An ‘ode to religious antics and absent fathers’, it’s one of the standout tracks from recent full-length debut Bellow, available now on Manimal Vinyl. The entire album can be streamed for a limited time via Sister Crayon’s Bandcamp page. Check out the single, plus an equally bass-heavy remix by Glasgow producer Dam Mantle, below.

Napoleon IIIrd, Amor De Dias, Jules Ettiene
15th March at The Slaughtered Lamb, Great Sutton Street, EC1
Howard Monk’s ‘The Local’ nights have become a beacon of new leftfield music, from the theatrical neu-folk of Sam Amidon and David Thomas Broughton to the glacial electronica of Valgeir Sigurðsson or the feel-good country of Caitlin Rose. Tonight, he presents a true innovator in the critically garlanded Napoleon IIIrd, who thoroughly douses his wonky pop music in psychedelic noise, brass and reverb. Amor de Dias lay on their tropical psych-folk in support, and Jules Ettiene opens, with his eclectic multi-instrumental oddness. Unmissable.

Edwyn Collins at Idea Generation
Exploring personalities, disordered and otherwise, Erica Eyres uses prosthetics, humour and narrative to examine human behaviour through video and drawing. Her recent work interprets the distribution and imagery found in internationally distributed mass culture. ‘Pam’s Dream’ is based on the final episode of ‘Dallas’, featuring awkward, embarrassingly bad teenage actors, dressed in sketchy costumes, playing the main characters. As they recreate scenes on homemade sets the viewer is distanced from the gripping escapism of the original series. Drawings featured alongside the film engage with the disquieting and vulnerable side of her characters. Until 4 March. The Rokeby Gallery, 5-9 Hatton Wall, FARRINGDON, EC1N 8HX www.rokebygallery.com
