Candy Empire - Forming (Napoleon IIIrd NXVI Remix)
As part of a remix exchange between Estonian and UK indie musicians, London-based cult star Napoleon IIIrd has crafted this wonderful remix of Tallinn-based electro-pop band Candy Empire. The two will share a stage together at Tallinn Music Week next week, and there are more remixes to come from artists including Mat Riviere (UK) and Väljasõit Rohelisse (EST). The programme was instigated by Projekta (UK) and Odessa Pop (EST) as part of an indie-scene exchange that last year saw Kreatiivmootor and Multiphonic Rodent hit the UK to play Brainlove Festival 2011.

Eikon by Two Wings
There’s something instantly enticing about the debut single from newish Glasgow five-piece Two Wings, signed to Tin Angel Records. Perhaps it’s Hanna Tuulikki’s woozy, unique vocal style, or her band’s (including ex-Trembling Bell Ben Reynolds) polished but laid-back blues. Catch them at the Betsey Trotwood, April 10th. Debut album Love’s Spring is released April 30th.

Trounce by Jonathan Boulet
Today’s MPFree is the oddball pirate pop of Sydney’s Jonathan Boulet. Trounce is taken from his forthcoming second album We Keep the Beat, Found the Sound, See the Need, Start the Heart’ – surely the definition of a ‘bloody mouthful’ – released May 14th via Modular Recordings. Download Trounce for free, in exchange for an e-mail address, here.

Snake & Jet's Amazing Bullit Band
I thought from their name that Snake & Jet’s Amazing Bullit Band was gonna be a bunch of distorto-bikers an acid. Turns out they’re more like push-bikers, and rather than hectic blues-metal they play accomplished, tuneful, nonchalantly amazing college-rock. Hear “Black Egg”, the near-flawless first single from the forthcoming album “Stuff That Rotates”, below.

Sentimental Dishes by PS I Love You
Check out this electrifying taster from Death Dreams, the forthcoming second album proper from Ontario’s PS I Love You. The noisy, hairy two-piece is a Snipe favourite; Paper Bag Records we salute you. Death Dreams is released May 28th.

Swollen Hearts, Bitten Tongues by Young Romance
We came across this wonderful, unsigned London duo whilst trawling the web. Paolo and Claire are a shot in the arm, in possession of an urgency and gift for melody which immediately draws you in and refuses to let go.

Creature of Our Make by Jenny Gillespie
This new one from Chicago musician Jenny Gillespie has got a lovely lazy quality to it. It’s the sound of Gillespie and East Coast folkster Sam Amidon (violin, backing vocals) having fun, before things take a slightly more serious turn around the two-minute mark. Her new EP Belita is out April 16th in the UK.
