Fidel Villeneuve’s post-Digital-Hardcore project is a colourful endeavor. Usually semi-naked and smeared in fake blood, the trio have expanded to a quartet to include a drummer, and play hysteric, comedic, full-throttle cartoon pop ‘n’ roll, sprinkled with non-sequitor samples, bizarre middle eights and key changes. Villeneuve’s lyrics can contain a of dash genius reminiscent of Spike Milligan, such as “Evelyn Waugh, Evelyn Waugh, I pretended you were my favourite author, just so I could see you even more, Evelyn Waugh”. This is a farewell show as the frontman heads off to Japan, so it could be your last chance.
