Ronika - Automatic
I often get accused of being an indie snob. I’m not, it’s just that most pop music is fucking terrible. Ronika bucks the trend with this sexy, fresh, catchy, seductive electronic funk track.

BlackJamRedPansy

An ungainly name hides a wonderful sound. BlackJamRedPansy is the solo project of a Norwich based solo artist Jack Spelman, a Soundcloud discovery about which nothing more is online – but all the bleeps and blops, choppy piano, soaring strings, samples aplenty, blotted reverb and curious micro-melodies were more than enough to prick up our ears. Watch this space for more.

And in case you’re not yet familiar with the work of mister Mat Riviere (who can be found on twitter posing as @meretrivia) the song below was the compulsively awesome title track from album number one.

Thieves by Idles
The debut video from this Bristolian quintet. Idles channel the wirey, angular guitar pop of 2004, adding more than a hint of Foals’ intricate math-rock while simultaneously paying jerky, impassioned vocal respect to The Maccabees’ Orlando Weeks. They manage to do all this without sounding dated or in awe of their guitar+bass+drum toting peers. 2012 looks set to be an exciting year for Idles. Catch them at The Drop in Stoke Newington, February 25th.
