The data crunchers at Information is Beautiful have taken the royalty rates of every kind of music distribution from self-made CD to Spotify streaming to determine how much of each media is needed to equal the US monthly minimum wage, $1160 (£750).
If you sell your self-made CD for $10, you need sell only 143 per month to make the minimum wage. With a major label, you’d need to sell 1,161 and on iTunes, you’d need to sell 12,229 individual tracks. After that, it gets bad. [ Information is Beautiful ]
