"I want champagne Subbuteo." You can support a new book celebrating the beautiful flicking game

Photographer Tom Groves has been busy capturing the drama, the passion, the downright lunacy of competitive Subbuteo. He is now raising money on Kickstarter to publish these pictures as a lovely-looking book, In the Box, and he’s well over half way to his £10,000 goal.

For anyone who’s ever super-glued a goalkeeper back on to his stick, for anyone who’s ever enviously eyed their friend’s cantilevered main stand, for anyone who’s ever played a real time FA Cup final against themselves, and engineered extra time and penalties, only to have the cat knock all the players off the table as you were about to present the trophy…this book could be for you.
